Hinagu basket which is also used to refer to Kagosho Yamaman is strongly durable against water, has long been loved by its characteristic square shape and natural bamboo texture. Recently, the baskets are often used as lunch boxes, accessories cases and sewing boxes. There are various sizes, so you can use it as you like. In order to preserve the dying tradition of Hinagu basket, please pick up and take a look at craftworks made with the technique transferred from the last artisan Mr. Kanchiku.
Old-fashioned bamboo crafts including Hinagu baskets that are narrowly lined up inside the shop are handmade by Kumamoto’s only Minister of Labour approved first-class craftsman.
